AeroSTEM Academy is a free, public charter school located on the Sutter County Airport Campus in Yuba City, California, serving students in grades 5 through 12. Founded with a commitment to STEM-based, experiential education, the school was built on the belief that every child deserves a learning environment that inspires curiosity, builds resilience, and prepares them for real-world challenges.

Over the years, AeroSTEM Academy has transformed into a school showing year-over-year academic improvement, with double-digit growth in math and ELA at the middle school level. The campus maintains a dedicated 10-to-1 student-to-staff ratio and caps class sizes at 27 students, ensuring personalized attention in every classroom.

Today, AeroSTEM Academy offers STEM pathways including Project Lead the Way, UC Davis C-STEM, a Computer Science CTE Pathway, and a PLTW Engineering Design CTE Pathway. The high school program is a campus-based hybrid model that is A-G approved, with dual enrollment opportunities available for students ready to start earning college credits.

AeroSTEM Academy's educational program encourages imagination, incorporates experiential learning, and provides opportunities to engineer solutions. Our middle school core model and flexible high school hybrid model meet students where they are.

Cored Academic Model

Grade-level teachers work as a team for core subjects and to support each student's academic and emotional wellbeing.

High School

Campus-Based Hybrid (A-G Approved)

A flexible high school model that combines on-campus instruction with digital coursework through Subject.com, with AP and dual enrollment courses available.

STEM Pathways

Project Lead the Way and UC Davis C-STEM

Students engage with PLTW Gateway, Computer Science CTE, and Engineering Design CTE pathways using Chromebooks, 3D printers, drones, Micro:bits, and Arduinos.

Student Support

Wrap-Around Academic Intervention

Two adults in every math and ELA classroom, before and after school tutoring four nights a week, and one-on-one small group support throughout the school day.
